AltaLink C8130 refusing to altboot or software upgrade

I have a AltaLink C8130 running 114 software which is running fine, but refusing any sort of software upgrade or Altboot.

    • USB port are enabled
    • software upgrade is set to allowed
    • I was able to install pre-patch 746306v4.dlm and it shows appended to the 114 software revision
    • when I upgrade via the web interface the file is accepted, but it's just like the machine ignores it. It shows as 'completed' in jobs, but the machine doesn't seem to process.
    • I have tried this with 119 and 120 software upgrade files
    • when I try to Altboot the machine over USB, it just dead cycles and keeps rebooting. I have full Altboot files for 2 kinds of 119 software
    • when I try Special Altboot over USB, the exact same thing happens.

    I have not yet tried
    • LDRPC recovery patch: it shouldn't be needed from 114 software on if I'm correct? I will, regardless, try after the weekend

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Special altboot is different from each software level. What special altboot files did you tried?
You can remove hdd/ssd clean all partitions ( format hdd ), put the hdd back and try with with special altboot for software version 119.xxx or 120.xxx.
If this dont works the last method is to use pws altboot.

I tried special Altboot with version 119.009.023.13000. As I cannot perform PWS altboot, I am hesitant to format HDD. If it doesn't work, I am stuck without a working machine.

If machine work as it should then your usb stick not works properly or the machine usb ports are disabled.
Did you tried all machine's ports?
Can you print configuration report and send it to me?

Re: AltaLink C8130 refusing to altboot or software upgrade

The original SSD in the machine was 128 GB. I tried replacing with a SSD of 120 GB, no luck. Now I have tried a 250 GB HDD, and the machine does (special) Altboot. Maybe early versions of the machine shipped with small SSD’s that are too small for newer software releases? But yeah, problem solved!

    when you use forced upgrade
It doesn't matter what version you are using. If your firmware has a patch, it is an upgrade file, not an altboot.
I have the link of the complete altbOot file
Be sure to use two files "DISABLE_DATA_BACKUP" AND "FORCED_UPGRADE"
