Hi,
Is the toner for DocuColor 3535 and DC 250 same for 7235 series?
Tnx
First of all the toner for 3535 is EA toner and for DC250 it's EA-HG so not quite the same although I happily use DC250 toner in my 3535 as it works and does no damage (and is much cheaper and gives a slightly glossier finish) and since I calibrate my 3535 all the time any small colour difference is eliminated (I understand there's a bit of difference in magenta).
I don't know the 7235 but if it's from the same generation chances are it uses one of the two toner types and you can use the toners in it. If it uses the newer eco toners there will be a problem as they are fused at a lower temperature.
I wondered myself as well and found the following on another forum. Xerox uses the following toner:
The EA, EA-HG and EA-Eco toner are mechanically the same, but have a different amount of gloss and the colors are slightly different. So putting EA-HG in a DC3535 will work fine mechanically, but you will need to calibrate colors, and the prints will be glossier. If you put normal EA in a DC240 or WC 73xx the prints will be matte and you will need to calibrate colors. EA-Eco toner has a lower melting point meaning the it will get crazy glossy if you put it in a DC240 or DC3535. And if you put EA or EA-HG in EA-Eco machine, it probably will not fuse well.
(1) Oil-requiring pulverized toner (DC12/DC6060/DC8000)
(2) EA toner (1632/2240/3535 + WCP32/WCP32, etc)
(3) Oil-requiring "EA" toner (iGen)
(4) EA-HG toner (DC250 + WC 72xx, 73xx, 76xx, 77xx + Phaser 7750, 7760)
(5) EA-Eco toner (700, 800/1000)
(6) Oil-requiring oddball pulverized toner (7002/8002)
Thanks for the info.
(4) EA-HG toner (DC250 + WC 72xx, 73xx, 76xx, 77xx + Phaser 7750, 7760)
This means I can use toner for DC 250?
Yes, 7235 toner and DC250 toner are the same. Beware though, DC250 toners are chipped and have more capacity than 7235 toners, so you will need almost 2 7235 toners to fill 1 DC250 toner, and besides you need to reset the chip.
Yes I know about toner cartridges. As a matter of fact I need to fill 7235 tc with dc 250 toner.
Once again thanks for the info.
Cheers
Yup, it was helpful, although I avoid changing toner myself as well it does come in handy from time to time. For example, for the Phaser 7750 I have a huge overstock of black toner, while for the WorkCentre 7228 etc I have a huge deficiency. It's good to know I can use 7750 toner in 7228 machine without problems, and that's helping me to iron out miss-balanced stock
how about a 7345 toner for a 7545?
