I just picked up a Xerox Nuvera 120. it was from a government entity. they removed the hard drive and all memory cards.not familiar with this machine, the last machines I repaired while with Xerox was the 6100 family. would appreciate and knowledge / suggestion or tools related to the nuvera
TIA
That's a whole different ball of wax on this one. Unfortunately without a PWS and software you cannot reprogram hard drive or swap boards for that matter. A run of the mill hdd will not work as software specific operating system has to be loaded. If you can find a local company (which I highly doubt) that can repair them, I would start there and try to see if you can work with tech maybe on the weekends. Suggestion IF company says they work on it and tech shows up with an Iron Maiden T Shirt and no laptop, tell him to leave. No work at all can be done without a laptop and PWS software. Put an inquiry in Copytech for a tech in your area. Never know who is right around the corner. If you are within the United States you may be good. Outside of US, I wish you luck.
Parts are easily found throughout the US especially on East coast. Here are 2 I know of and both have excellent tech support.
ITEM INC - Woodbridge VA
Parts Drop - South NJ
Hope this helps
I'm a novice user trying to install/load pws 3.6 software on winXP. Is the os compatible with the 3.6 software? Can I use a usb to serial cable to connect?
Thanks!
When I try to open I get 2 errors: "Cannot open product code file" and "problems encountered accessing MachineData.mdb: file not found." I go into PWS Tools folder and I see that MachineData.mdb is in the folder. Any ideas?
I'm SURE Xerox would LOVE to find out about techs passing out to NON-Certified Techs their COPYRIGHTED PWS software and Edocs!
hope this activity doesn't shut down CTN!
