Xerox WC 5330 error code 024-371

We don't normally work Xerox but one of our clients has this machine and wanted us to look at it. The machine comes up and gives an error code 024-371, the copy button is greyed out, but the scanner works and you are able to scan to email. The manual tells me that it is a communication problem between the ESS and IOT. We pulled the fuser, checked it and reseated it. Pulled and reseated RAM chip, EEPROM and all connectors on ESS PWB and MCU PWB. The machine has come up and allowed us to copy for a short time then it codes out again.

Looking to see if there is something else we should try or are we looking at firmware upgrade and/or board replacement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be due to software corruption. If connected to a finisher, disconnect the finisher and upgrade the firmware to the latest general release from xerox.com using USB flash drive. Once upgrade has completed, power down, reconnect the finisher and power back on. (this is from eureka tip # 129004)
