    dc432

I am getting repeated jams in paper path at and before the fuser. I've cleaned rollers, electrical contacts at Detack, CBS and transfer rlr and registration area. I've replaced the fuser and Exit Gate Solenoid to the exit area with no luck. I've tried printing from different drawer. Rechecked drawer settings and sensor flags and all seem to work with no issue. Anyone familiar with this machine that can help resolve issue would be appreciated.

Remove front protect plastic cover from toner cartridge.
The paper is drive by registration roller onto fuser. The registration rollers shaft is driven by registration clutch so replace or clean this clutch. all these for prefuser area jams.
Read the error codes and follow the procedure from edoc.

Sorry, I have read "after" fuser.
If jam before fuser, check the print on the paper jammed to see if the registration clutch work fine.
Try all paper tray and tell us error code.

Thanks Adrianstro for the quick response. Do I take off the metal arms as well or will I need the contact for continuity? I'm heading there Monday, I'll get back to you with the error code then.

Yes, the protect cover with metal arm. Removing it is easy.

Ran the Fault History and got Codes E4-1 Face Up exit switch code and an E8-1 Duplex Paper Sensor. Mostly E4-1. Followed RAP procedures and both switches checked out fine, Checked Duplex Inverter Clutch and Duplex Exit Gate Solenoid and both energized and were working. As both codes refer to timing issue as well could be page is slipping or not enough power to forward it time to clear sensor(s). Anyway, I was able to get the machine to feed to internal tray with no problem, both simplex and duplex. Didn't have time to check PWBs but believe to be OK since it passed to internal tray without incident. Exit rollers were cleaned and look new. Had swapped out face up sensor to confirm readings and found to be working.Any ideas?

Remove the two top covers from printer part of the machine. Pull out the fuser fan from cover and let it conected to his connector. Without this fan the machine will stop with error code after 30 seconds.
Then make prints or copies and choose the left exit tray. First make single side copies then double side copies. Watch how the papers move. In this area you have electrical clutches, mechanical clutch, gate actuator, sensors, rollers. Watch how they works and what is wrong.
