In my experience, leave potential control on for best results. Took me a while to realize you have to force a drum measurement with the newer copiers.

I've had some luck setting the density to 7 or 8 in service mode then forcing a potential measurement. Or try changing the EP-OFFST and forcing a drum -pot measurement.

I just had one today that a developer cylinder made a huge difference on a test page #7.

I usually start with replacing the developer cylinder (assuming you've done the wires) and then bite the bullet and replace the $$$ drum. They don't last 5 mil like on the older NP and early iR series.

Check the primary fan duct. Especially if darker at rear of print.Make sure that it mounts securely,....the plastic tab on the left end breaks off all the time. Also check the linkage for the laser shutter that the pin on the primary fan duct pushes on. I have seen bent linkages. Early 5570 also had problems with laser assembly not sitting properly. Remove the laser, remount it and force the machine to do potential control.

Replace the Cylinder is a bitch right? why not replace the DV-unit, it;s not that expensive.
