[Error Code] canon ir2016 with "download standby" message

I have a canon ir 2016 with the "download standby" message. I know this is a firmware issue and tried to get the cd part # fy9-4240-003. I am told it is discontinued. Does anyone know where i might get one or a copy of one so i can reboot the copier? Any help would be appreciated.

As far as DISCONTINUATION of that model is concerned, it is true. In reality ALL the iR models, first introduced in the year 2000, have now been superseded by the Image Runner-ADVANCE series since the year 2009 when the IR-ADV SERIES were introduced into the market.
But of course the iRs are still plentifully around and canon continues to support them and will continue to do so for a long time to come.
