Canon C1 Imagepress touch screem problems..........oh joy!

Well folks, I am back again on this C1.
Copier runs just fine, everything is just peachy BUT................A NEW PROBLEM

only this time its the touch screen!!!! what else??

The Color LCD is just fine.

It seems out of calibration from the bottom to the top.
The Bottom touch buttons all work fine but as you move up to the mid and then to the top
you have to touch just above the button in the middle and you cannot access the mailbox/scan/ at the top!

in the middle you have to touch just above the button but it does work.
There is a "digitizer screen" in front of the LCD screen (very much like your iPhone/iPod touch screen)
This screen tracks with the LCD buttons when you touch them.

The top is way off but the bottom is fine.
The digitizer is separate from the LCD on removal

It has a 4 contact flat gold connector that is on the small board that the rest of the LCD is connected to
I have disassembled screens many times and the "Glass Digitizer is in front of the LCD.

It is NOT cracked and is clean not using any other that a damp cloth fro finger prints.

Replacing the entire screen $$$$$ is out of the question price wise and totally not necessary
Did I miss a calibration procedure???
really thing its only /maybe just the digitizer screen
BUT this entire mach Has not seen much use at all with only 80K...........yup 80K with all the problems I have had with this
for 80K

What a nightmare

Please any help guys?? TEK I hope this is just a no brainer for you!!!

TRY clearing MN-CON in service mode/

RAM clear for the SRAM board of the main controller PCB

1) Select this item and press the OK key.
2) Turn OFF/ON the main power.
- The RAM data is cleared after the main power switch is turned OFF/ON.
- When this mode is executed, all the data in the SRAM board is initialized.
The file control information for a hard disk is also initialized, and image data in the hard disk
cannot be read. Before you execute this mode, be sure to inform a user that all images in the
box are going to be initialized and receive prior approval from him/her.
1) Print out the service mode data by COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P > P-PRINT.
2) Select this item and press the OK key. The machine is automatically activated and displays
a message indicating "please turn on the main power again".
3) Turn OFF/ON the main power.

I thank my lucky stars Penvy for never having to touch another C1 .....left Canon for a multibrand dealer who DOES'NT touch Canon...good luck brother

The Copier was left on all last night
I went to try it and it works now

WTF??

It just seems as if the calibration was all of a sudden out when the power was out.

QUESTION!!!!

I will ck the lithium battery B/up on the main board too.
If that was low I was thinking that might be the problem ???

But the reset is the first thing but remember the screen was very hard to use

Yes we know this C1 is just so wonderful and keep us employed
frustrated but its a job.

I cannot wait for the day I can roll this out on the parking lot

Get my shot gun

Shoot it
