When you put the original in the input tray the green light turns on but when you push the print button it does nothing but stay there. I change out the little motor that drives the arm that comes down onto the paper. I have to turn the machine on and off to reset it. Do I have a board problem? Thanks for any input. Kurt

df 210
I would think if you have to switch the machine off and on to clear the jam it must be a sensor reading high .Could also be a broken wire in one of the looms going to the sensor ..this was an old problem on canon dfs. Does the green light blink when you press for a copy? if it does then its one of the above problems most likely..What df is it? you will get the type on the back of it on a silver plate..Comment

RDF-G1
The DF is a RDF-G1. It's a close relative to the DADF-A1 on the 330/400s.
This is really common on a lot of the Canon RDFs:
Misfeed (jam code 0084) is registered immediately when the print key is pressed. RDF jam is displayed, but the jam cannot be found, and clears only when the power is turned OFF/ON. On GP200/iR210. Broken lead in the wire harness to S6, usually at the door hinge point. Temporarily solder the broken wire in the harness for S6. Flip the harness end-for-end before reinstalling it (the repair will be positioned away from the bending point). Replace the harness for S6 (FG2-3374-000) next call.
Need the jam code for a better answer.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
