    iRc5185-H1 Scan to email problem

hey everyone, I have had a few machines in this situation.

iRC5185-H1 conntected to network with USEND

properly configured network including DNS and Domains, configured all communication/email Ifax settings. Test scan to email works great and continues to work through various tests, customer is happy, customer then calls in 2 or 3 weeks later saying that scan to email is failing. go to call check send log and get "NG" result "751 or 752 or 801" Network server/DNS fail..... I cycle power on/off test send to email all good. customer calls a few days later same thing. Dialog Display says "Sending" then "Resending" then "NG" I checked the servers smtp traffic through network and there is no communication from copier at all durring send function until I restart the machine. Is there a setting on the H1 or in the copier that times out the connection to an smtp server that i am missing?..... if it would help I can include all config pages and reports..

BTW Reinstalling the system (H1) Software has only worked on 1 out of 3 machines. I should note that there are several other canons without controllers installed that dont have any issues with Usend on the same sites.
Some people may say I have a short temper, but I prefer to call it

    Will research and get back
if H1 Firmware is v2.0, the 5185 needs to be at least v78.17 or better.

Read this Pdf. for USEND ERRORS
    Universal Send Error Codes.pdf

Thanks Teckat, Like the remedy side of the tables never knew you could use Outlook express to verify settings. the 5185 is v91.02. went back to site today with P print and config pg from the machine with the resolved issue to compare all of the settings. went through with fine tooth comb and found a few discrepencies but was unable to make changes due to cust having deadline print job. rescheduled for later afternoon. when I returned another tech was there. he helped alot, said it was the energy saver settings. was set for 10% energy consumption and Low power durring esaver, and muticast discovery on H1. turned e consuption to 50% and esaver to High power multicast to OFF as well as all appletalk/bonjour as client isnt applecentric, turns out that the machine when waking up from energy saver from such "depth" it doesnt restart the usend service yet does enable printing. so we made the changes and will have to wait until tomorrow am to see if it fixed it or not. I am going by around 7am.

I might mention the working unit at other site has sys v92.06 checked energy consuption afterwards and found that it was set to 50% and high power. so this maybe the fix. will post tomorrow. Did you find anything else?

        great find/

forgot about turning off multicast discovery/

when I was in the big city/
at high volume accounts & accounts that were open 12/15 hrs
        we used these settings>
power save mode = is set to 0% immediate recovery
low power mode=set to 4 hrs
sleep mode= set to 4 hrs.

Energy consumption mode is always set to HIGH=
in User Mode > Common Settings > Energy Consumption in Sleep Mode.
        Low affected FAX Comm.

Sleep mode performance settings are affected by some items in System Settings when they are changed by the User/Tech.
That is why we keep it set at 4 hrs.
[To many to list here/ check your Service Manual to view.]

all of these modes effect the Fixing unit

I do not like Energy Saving on Printers/
they are made to PRINT and not SLEEP
