I haven't really had any problems with Windows 8, still getting the hang of it. The idea of a Start Screen/ Metro mode OS is kinda jarring. But I use classic shell. I really like the enhancements Win8 has. Like I can shut down in three seconds and boot up in about 20-30 seconds with non SSD. You have to tweak things more than you do with Win 7 to get functionality back. Slowly they're getting the desktop feel back. I think they should have released Surface as the tablet and phone OS and Windows as desktop only, but the two should sync together. Maybe by Win9 things will jive better.

People will probably still use Win7 more for the foreseeable time unless Win9 really does it. Win7 will be the new "XP"

I haven't installed 8.1 yet, so I don't know of any issues with it yet. I have "heard" of the problems however. I usually wait a while before jumping on the updates.
