[Error Code] Km 5050 "programme loading"

I have just fitted a number keypad to one of these machines and now have a blue screen with programme loading hanging until an error code of CFB31 appears.
I have checked Dimm seating which appears ok and attempted to reload firmware ,but although screen momentarily goes black ,blue screen appears again and hangs.
    Any ideas welcome !

I believe that the Falcon III has the tiny dip switch on the op panel pwb. Set the dip switch to the other position. Reload firmware. Then set the switch back to the original position. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

THe KM/CS3050, 4050 & 5050 do not have the switch you are speaking of. The KM/CS 2560 & 3060 have this switch, There is also a procedure to follow when using this switch to set the machine up for re-uploading the firmware if you lose power when you were uploading firmware.
Please look over your work on the 5050 machine to insure everythinf is back together correctly. Also sometimes someone will install the connector with the green red black and white wires into YC9, it goes into YC1. This will also give you the CFB31 error as this is the USB communication cable to the main board, Hope this helps.

I currently have a problem loading firmware onto a KM2560 and vaguely recall somebody mentioning something about this switch when the 'blue spinning cd of death appears'
What is the procedure for recovery ?

Try cleaning , reciting or replacing the main PCB memory. If that does not work then the HDD. Any one will can cause these problems.

Power down and remove power cord, place switch on operation panel PCB to boot position, replace power cord and turn on, display will probably go black. Memory led will blink at different intervals, (one to two minutes) when led quits flashing, be patient and do not rush, power down and remove power cord. Now place switch in the normal position, load a USB memory stick or a CF card with Firmware 2.20D. insert the usb or CF card to update the copier. If successful repeat the update, however do not repeat the boot procedure, just the update. This is done to insure that the firmware rewrites any corrupt areas. The update procedire taked 7 to 10 minutes so be patient. I have also been able to perform this procedure with current firmware, I have also had this procedure totaly corrupt my mainboard firmware, So use at your own risk. Procedure is outlined in Bulletin

                    Good luck .

there is a chance that you can get 2 connectors mixed up when replacing the ops panel, as previously mentioned. it is easily done if my memory serves me correctly it is a 2 or 3 pin connector and if they are switched around then you get the exact same problem you are having. good luck
