2" band on back side of page (4500ci) - first page only

Transfer belt and roller look okay (and I cleaned) and fuser looks perfect. Updated firmware, whet through all the normal image adjustments/cleanings.

The defect is exactly 2" starting at the leading edge of the first page only (it is just shy of 7/16" wide). Image attached (the tick mark is mine).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking about insufficient transfer belt cleaning. In the scan you can see parts of an image. In the top right corner you can see the word "Report" (mirror image).

Yeah, the faint "Report" is from the front side of the page - I had to increase the density quite a bit to get the scan to show the defect. I took out the transfer belt and didn't see anything that would be causing this.

This ghosting can not be caused by the drum because it's too big to fit on the drum. Maybe you can try another belt.

Was the sample fed LTR or LTR-R? I'm guessing LTR and I've seen it before, somewhere. Just can't remember. I'll keep thinking on it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

On other models I have serviced, looks like patches printed on transfer belt when doing a calibration, the transfer roller would move away from the belt so the id sensors could read the patches. If transfer roller stayed against transfer belt, the patches would migrate to the transfer roller and print on back of first page similar to your sample.

You may have a bad/flaky transfer belt drive clutch. Do a 150+ page run ,If the problem reappears every 40-50 prints it's the clutch. No, I don't know why and yes it sounds strange.,

I also replaced the belt assembly and it's working......But I was told by "people in the know" that if the band repeats every 40-50 prints on a long run its the drive clutch..........The best part is they don't know why .........So if it comes back try replaceing the clutch..... .
