    Broken heart and pockets

Today is my last day in business as an independent service and sales company.

9 years as an everything tech with networking knowledge and lots of tricks of the trade.

I wanted to thank all on this site for their help and laughs.

May come back if and when I find a more permanent job, but they don't hire old farts anymore, just rookies.

looking to relocate, but have an ailing mom that needs help once in a while and siblings that don't care.

This is the NMfaxman signing off.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This wasn't some retirement post. The guy is depressed and broke with an ailing mother and all I see is "Lots of Luck!, stop back!"

Many companies will hire rookies, but there are still some that need an experienced hand to jump right in. And I know my company, is finished hiring kids because they quit. The work is either too boring, overwhelming or underwhelming and all the rest.

Hope you mother finds her health.

Sorry I missed that. It's not too late to change jobs. At 52 I went looking, and got hired at my first choice. Experienced techs that can jump in on a new brand and do calls immediately are a valuable commodity. I haven't seen any training yet ... and honestly I don't think it will make much difference. You won't have any trouble getting employment, and a steady paycheck.

Where will you be living? =^..^=

                              Just an update....

Just finished updating my resume. Hard to do when you haven't needed it for 9 years.
Spent a week in the hospital due to the anxiety and depression I have suffered from for the past 2 months. (Yes, hospital food sucks.)
Doing better now and take so many pills, I rattle in the morning. (At least I didn't lose my sense of humor.)
Going to start looking and searching first thing in the morning.
All the subcontractors I helped over the years are trying to help, but I don't think it will be enough to make a living.
I have burned many bridges with dealers over the years due to stupid managers and pushy salespeople.
A friend is going to talk to her bosses @ HP to see if they are interested.
Submitting my resume to Copier Careers.com and see what comes up.
Until then I am just going to be a copier whore and cut expenses. Gonna miss my beer and Jack.

Thank you all for your thoughts and advice.
