Toner/developer starts leaking and damagaing the developing gears after about 12K prints. Replaced with a new PCU, same thing happened again. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Re: MP301 PCU Life
Two things:- Use only Genuine Ricoh
- If these entry level machines are not level, the developer will migrate to the lower end and cause excessive load on the gears. I have actually had them stall the motor instead of stripping the gears.

Re: MP301 PCU Life
Our shop noticed this as well. We had several gears just break off of the pcu's around 12k. We did a test with 3515 drums ,where we drilled a hole in the plastic piece in the front.Seems to be the only issue for fitting in the 3515 pcu's into the 301's. So far it has been going the length of a normal drum. We stopped putting out 301's though since then for this and other reasons. We switched to the Kyocera 3550's , and have had much better success with minimal to no call backs, other than normal maintenance.Comment
