I have a customer with a 201 with a wireless card. It works very well until the machine goes into energy saver. I have to turn the machine off and back on to get the signal back. Is there a way to turn the energy saver off? Or any other suggestions.

Might check the RTB's. There was a controller revision to address network glitching.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
Never dealt with built in Wireless network cards on Ricoh boxes, but from what I've heard, they can tend to be flaky. So I've always just used wireless range extenders when so-called wireless connections are required.Comment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
Ricoh wireless option is always expensive piece of sh.t.
Use device called TP-link TL-WR702N. This is ultra small router with client mode for 20 euro only. You can supply one from machine usb port.
From network point of view the device is invisible.Microsh.t is finished and Linux RulezComment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
Slimslob is correct yet again. The WNCE2001 has been replaced by the WNCE3001 (better range) and sells at Fry's Electronics for 39.99. Super simple to set up.Comment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
I use them all the time. The only one I have trouble with is a customer who keeps changing his router and I have to go out and reconfigure.Comment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
This is a good top using the micro wifi router! I understand if customer connects to the micro router they'll see the printer & can install it, but how would I configure it so that it connects to the customer main wifi network?Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Re: MP201 with wireless card
The WNCW 2001 ans WNCE 3001 do connect to the customers main WIFI, or what ever near by WIFI that you have the access code for. They are client devices, not access points. If you connect a switch to it you can connect multiple wired devices to your wireless network.Comment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
When I have a customer that keeps going through routers (and I do) I charge them the first couple of times and then leave them the instructions for resetting the device and installing it again. But I like money so........Comment

Re: MP201 with wireless card
Tp-link tl-wr702n seems better. It looks like box of matches and one can be power suppied from machine usb port. Of course power supply unit and cables you get also in box.
