You need at least version 9.66 of Network Support firmware (and possible System as well) to scan to Windows 8.

Best to update all the firmware to the latest level in one go.

Go to TSRC. In the B230/B237/D042 Tech tool Box, click on Special/Custom Firmware. Download either the SD card or Remote version posted on 2/6/2013. I just did a Lanier LD420c today. Worked great.

My previous reply is for the MP C3000. The MP C4500 would be B222/B224. You still have to download the custom firmware.

The two attached zip files are for the C3000.

Thank you, slimslob! Worked perfectly on a 2500.

No, set up scan to FTP or email; then never worry about it ever again, forever.

Ricoh released a custom firmware on 1/11/13. Login in to TSRC, select Color MFP, Select B222/B224, then click on the "Special/Custom Firmware"

Upgraded to the latest firmware - and although test connection works, when sending a file - 'waiting.'
Firmware is latest rfg043463 from ricoh. What else??
No firewall, open port 3670 just in case...

Make sure you are giving the correct username and password (Windows 8 uses an online username, which I believe cannot work, but I haven't tested) and give the username permissions to read and write to the directory. Also disable any security suites and anti-virus, to test.

thx. I had to create new destination/folder then magic happened. For some reason windoze hangs on to its bad experiences. It's all good now.
