    SCX-5935 error 7-1

Sorry for not having pictures or anything to help out, but I've got a 5935 that jams in the finisher with error code 7-1, or 7-001 depending on the source of the error code. It is a pretty intermittent problem and as far as I've tested it only happens for duplexed prints or copies - I can run my forty page doc feeder acid test through the doc feeder one sided with no problems, but if I try that in two to two sided duplex mode every three to ten pages a sheet jams in the finisher.
Heh, I've replaced the entire right hand door assembly on the machine (in case there was a mechanical problem with the duplexer) with the results of no change whatsoever (d'oh).
Next time I'm out there I'll get some pictures.

Are you sure about the model Iowatech? AFAIK the SCX-5935FN is a tabletop AIO MFP that never had a finisher option:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Have to agree with you BC - no finisher for this model.

Oh, crap, sorry, its a SCX-6545. I'll start a new thread with the correct model number.

The closest I can come to your symptoms was on a SCX-6345FN:

First page of stapled set is 25mm lower, not included in the staple. The stapling tray has built up static. Since the first page directly contacts the staple tray, it can stick to the plastic tray. Consecutive pages move easily. Add a few drops of Pledge dusting spray to a towel and wipe down the stapling and finishing trays.

Finished sets not ejected to the tray. Ejector Fault recorded on Error Information Report. Ejector mechanism is stalled at the far left side of it travel. Greased ejector mechanism and cycled through full rotation several times.

            I'll try this, thanks!
