      hi
the drum unit is not clening the toner out propertly
      its accumulates and ads stress
there were many tech reports about this problem
the best things to do is
      1-latest flimware(firmware)
      2-service the drum unit

We have a a few of these type of machines. The biggest thing we find is that the waste toner gets filled up quickly, well before the toner needs to be replaced. Empty out the waste toner from on the toner cartridge, that would be the first thing I would check. This causes the Drum to lock because it is all driven by the same motor.

          Hope this helps

What you mean? Aren't they like the ARM455s in that they have a toner/waste toner Cartridge combined?

TWo other things to look at. One is the dv box locking up Sharp had an issue for a while wherre tey had to change a bearing on it, they even sent me a couple of these. You might want to check your main drive for binding. How many pages on this unit?

On many of the sharps it recycles the waste toner back into the toner supply.

My understanding is there was a separation between the new supply and the waste toner - basically a "bag" that fills the area where new toner came from as waste toner fills it up.
But my understanding could be totally off on this.

If all of your components are moving freely (registration, developer, drum, main motor and fusing unit) then try replacing the charge unit. When does the L4 code appear? I have had each of the items above cause an L4 code at one time or another. Do you get the code when you run the MM in sim 6?

                        Good luck.

The other thing you may want to look at is there is a small set of gears on the bach of drum unit we had a few of these get stripped off. How many pages on machine?

hi,i found the problem, the grease on the gears in the drive unit was full of dirt,so the drive unit is turning hard.
                            Thanks for all reply's.

A MXM-350 and an ARM-455 use the same toner, and yes there is a wall between the toner waste and fresh/new toner. I just pulled the cover off to verify as I thought it was walled also, If not there would be paperdust and other contaminants making its way into the good toner.
