President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum was met with apprehension by West Michigan manufacturers, many of whom use that steel and aluminum to make their furniture, automotive parts and beer. While Trump's decision to exempt Canada and Mexico may offer them some relief, the tariffs will raise the price of cars and trucks and office furniture, said Paul Isely, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University.
