Office Depot: FTC's request will not slow Staples deal

The Federal Trade Commission's second request for information will not slow down Staples' $6.3 billon acquisition of Office Depot , officials from the Boca Raton-based company said Tuesday. "We anticipated that a second request for information from the FTC was likely and it was factored into the timing for the deal to close by the end of the calendar year," Office Depot spokeswoman Karen Denning said.

And (little of subject) more lawsuits from Canon, HP, Lexmark going after more aftermarket companies(overseas now) in the downturn of paper, toner usage, competition is digging into margins. This year will bring a lot of change to this industry. Time will tell.
