I for one hope sometime we grow up enough in this country to realize that campaign promises are pie in the sky useless.

Any promise can be made. You can't accomplish it alone. Gotta have Congress. Right now it's going Democratic but two years from now that can completely change as it did to Bill Clinton.

That is a very good question, but a little tricky within the context of foreign affairs since Biden is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Kind of like comparing apples to oranges. On experience he would win hands down.

Would he be good at managing foreign affairs on the presidential level?

I would not allow myself to vote any candidate on a single issue or area of debate. Looking at the overall executive nature of the presidency, I think Gov. Palin would be better suited. If anyone is inclined to consider her gender as a stumbling block; consider Margret Thatcher when she was Prime Minister of Great Britain. Women can lead and take on the executive role. I'd vote for Palin.

I knew it would not take long to get some feedback. The Carl rowe bit pretty much sums it up. All year, the biggest reason to not vote for Obama was because he did not have enough experience. There is a sound bite from every republican running and every reporter on Fox, saying just this, and I am guessing also Rush. You must see the irony that the same people say,[ with a straight face ], that Palin has enough by being in charge of a state that has a population about the same as the county I live in. There is definitely some validity to that. However, if we were talking about copier technicians you might agree it is better to hire a technician with a good track record who worked for a very small dealership than to give the same job to a sales person who used to work for an enormous dealership.

A small amount of executive experience is a lot better than none at all. Even so, Palin is not running against Senator Obama, McCain is. Sara Palin is running for the position of President Of the Senate ex officio; which is not an executive postion ... just a tie breaking one.

This preference, or reference point due to facts or knowledge they have endured or encountered during their life, is what they know to be true to them. Might not be so to someone else. I cant see how a Christian can say its ok for gays to get married. Yes the school books will have to be re-written to not say man and a woman and to have man and man or woman and woman in the text. All books will have to be pulled from the current corriculum because they would be offensive to gays if it goes through and they get married, and their lifestyle is not mentioned. And you will not be able to have a Bible school for children because the Bible says Man and a Woman. So Bible students will be no more. Think about it! They will have rights as married couples, and as such will be able to sue you if you do not change the books to say man and man or woman and woman. Dont fall for their trap. I dont care if Obama has a different skin color. Its the issues that count. Tell you the truth I think Palin could do a better job then Biden if they were President. Hey the comic central joke did not mention Obama's community experience. whoopie. Alaska has more at stake and more to take care of than a county does. You have gas and oil production giants, timber, wildlife and more. guess there is none of that in a county in the city.I'm getting old enough i dont care anymore, maybe Obama should win, so he can shoot himself in the foot and ruin the country to the point of no return. How much more can you give of your earnings. My wife brings home less than is taken out of her check. Thats why so many people were on welfare, they couldn't afford to go to work.
I am one of people who are tired of all the taxes. When will it end? When? It will come to a stop sometime, it better be soon. If it doesn't stop then tell me what will happen when you have to pay 75% of your check out for taxes and if you dont you will be punished. Oh well I'm stirring the pot as well and find myself being sucked in the pit along with everybody else. Here is a fine example of how we ought not be. You see, instead of reaching out our hand to pull one up from the ladder in the pit, we are acting like idiots and pulling down instead. Some of us kicking the other down in the pit. I'm done with this nonsense. I think we all want whats best for us, just that we cant seem to agree what that is. Some like spinach some dont. I also read the post to get rid of all the people trying to do harm to us. If we do then we are no better. The other country wants us all dead because we dont have the same religion as they do, and there is no way we could ever have it, so we are considered defective and need to be done away with. we have tried to reason with this kind of behavior but it just does not work. We cannot get along with someone who want to stab you in the back everytime you are not looking at them in the eye. So the only other choice is to protect ourselves. If only they could understand the meaning of love thy brother. If we all could realize this, we would no longer have to fight and have wars, but since the beginning of time thats all we do. When there are two or more groups then one wants to be in charge of the other, and the other doesn't want to play the same game. Its all yours now, I've said my speech.

I am not afraid of gays, so let me see if I can turn this in a different dirrection. Lets talk national defence. Our government, both sides of it, invaded Iraq for weapons that did not exist. Noises are being made about attack on Iran to stop them from getting nukes. The pro western government in Pakistan has been forced out and will most likely be replaced with a government that is pro Iran. Pakistan has nukes, should we attack? Georgia was invaded by Russia and we did nothing, why? Are they not our friends. Is it that we have spread ourselves too thin. China gets oil from Iran, so if they backed Iran would we still attack? Our government says Syria is a safe haven and training ground for terrorist, then why have we not attacked. All of these are real issues that the next president will have to deal with, so what do you think your side would do?
Remember, we have borrowed most of what we spent so far in Iraq, from China, so if we attack thier oil supply, we may get our money cut off. And that would take us to raising taxes to pay for the new wars. so what do you think?

I bet you didn't know bombs went off in the basement of the twin towers before the planes hit. Look up janitor for the twin towers, and hear what he has to say, its 50 minutes long. bomb went off removing flesh from fellow employees arm. You missed the question. Why did we not defend Georgia, if Syria supports terrorist, why has bush not invaded, if the new government in Pakistan is pro Iran, will we invade them to take thier nukes away and if China, who supplies us with 80 to 90% of the goods we use backs Iran to protect thier oil supply, how far would we take it????? Neither of you hit on any of those issues. And if China quits loaning us money for Iraq, how much of a tax hike will you support to pay for war. And what if the playing field got changed with China to a trade war, who wins? We are totally dependent on everyone else for most of what we use. Try living your life without goods from China.
Do not assume I am just throwing these issues out there for the republicans to answer, these are real issues and require answers from both sides.
So much of what is being thrown out there as "issues", is just to distract from the tough questions that do not have easy answers. If we can focus on Obama's middle name and Palins family life we won't notice that there is very little substance to the answers being given. Both sides are down in the mud now and it really pisses me off. By the end of it, they will have spent tens of millions of dollars to tell us the other guy sucks instead of giving real details on how they will make my life better.

It took two years to get into Iraq, through the useless scumbags in the worthless UN. How would you imagine we go and defend Georgia in a Heartbeat? We have a Navy Vessel there now and we gave them a Billion dollars in aid.
