    Re: Scams involving printers/copiers/fax

How about the copier industry with the salespeople and the leasing companies, that's a scam. I see some clients pay over $30k for an MFP that msrp is about $17K, WITH A HUGE buyout to top it off, just to see the salesperson come to the rescue just to nail them again. I was working on a copier the other day and a sales person walked in (selling copiers for a brand that is currently ready to file bankruptcy) and touting what a great company they are and how they are excited about there new line of MFP's, etc, etc. I couldn't help myself, I stepped away from the copier asked the client if they would mind if I interjected. I asked the salesperson about the bankruptcy... he didn't know what to do... and told me it wasn't true, "its blown out of proportion," I quickly googled it on my hand-held, showed him a page full of google results, and replied "oh really," I told him to have a nice day and research what he is selling (copier snake-oil salesman) Just my two cents.

I remember when Xerox was essentially giving away those Phasers (relabeled Tectronix) to unsuspecting clients, but the catch was you had to buy a certain amount of OEM ink (crayon wax)... at a ridiculous amount of money. God I hated Phaser calls, because most people would buy the generic and try to fit it in to the holes and get them jammed up all the time. I absolutely hated those things.

I could go on about scams....but I will bite my tongue. I just twist a screwdriver.

      leasing scams

always read before you sign, doesnt matter how much you trust the guy.

some cons can be 10+ years in the making. Let legal be legal and trust be trust, those dont mix.

Fax a picture of his blood. He kept telling me, "I'm completely cured now. I have no cancer at all in my system. The medical community doesn't want this out."
Just hearing him talk made me want to either cry or find the bastards who scammed him and insert some home made brain tumors.
I would have pursued that, but I already knew that his doctors had said there was nothing that could be done for him anyway; so if he felt somewhat hopeful or happy, there was no harm in it. He died a few months later.
Anyone else have some good stories concerning scams related to printers?
          1) OH.. like a scam where they call your 94yr old mom..tell her Federal Taxes haven't been paid and she could face jail time? ( she called me ALL crying etc..*she had NO Fed Taxes*)
2)or the ones that call you to tell you of this GREAT Senior HC program.. (they only need $300usd right then to sign you up)
3)or the CONSTANT pressuring of "cold call" sales guys promising the WORLD on repairs to your house/shed/property... but want ALL $$$$'s UP FRONT?
Those? Naw.. never heard of ANY shady people out there!
