    Tech-ish

    As techs, we we experience things that words cannot describe. Inspiried by my adventure of putting in a PM kit on a 10 year old Ricoh Aficio 350, I give you the language of the technicians.

    TonerBrow - When you get toner on your lower forehead that fills the empty space between your eyebrows to create a synthetic unibrow.

    PM = Placebo Maintenance
    When the machine is working on arrival and you cannot duplicate any problems. You dust off the machine, rattle your tools around in the tool bag and tell the customer, "I found the problem. It's all fixed now."

      Techs in my corner of the world use a lot of TLA's - Three Letter Acronyms.

      TIP - Technician Induced Problem - Ever shoot yourself in the foot, or follow annother tech who did?

        I am lucky I still have two good feet I know that I have shot myself quite a few times during my career. I do not believe any tech can say that they haven't

            I never said I was perfect.
            Why do they call it common sense?

            If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

                Possibly,the imprint of a homo sapian(usually a female of the species) settling on the platen glass, sans any sort of apparel.

                  You are correct sir, that is why it pays to carry alcohol. I advise my customers that if they must, that they should treat the glass like a toilet seat in a dirty public restroom.... hover, don't touch. For the record, I have had 3 machines busted from such activity, can anyone beat that record.

                        My favorite repair code is ID-10T. Remove the hyphen!

                            Similar to the ID-10 error is the good old fashioned Device to DFU Interface issue. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the DFU is a user replaceable item. After all, they provide their own Dumb F>(#ing Users with great regularity...
