Science tells us that we are heading towards another Ice Age. We also don't have very much accurate data so it is not even a little surprising that we'd set new records for both summer heat and winter cold.

You do realize that there is only 130 years of temperature data for Tampa? I also hope you understand the effect that building up an area to the extent that Tampa has been can have on local temperatures? My parents live close to Tampa and its shocking the amount of building that's been done since they moved there about 25 years ago.
