    What if??????

THE JUXTAPOSITION OF FACTS....A USEFUL PERSPECTIVE.......(and they are facts...)

    A question of perspective :

    Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin,

what if things were switched around?..... think about it.

Would the country's collective point of view be different? Could
    racism be the culprit?

    Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including
a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe
disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while
    he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption
in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings
and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many
occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality,
do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities the
other when there is a color difference.

    Educational Background:

    Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in
    International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna **** Laude

    Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

    vs.

    John McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

    Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
    Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in
the land as well as our standing in the world. You make the call.

I personally am tired of lawyers being the government.

        Let the common people try.

              Shoot the lawyers

I'm with those of you that think we should get rid of lawyers in congress. Hell, I have a devil of a time reading any of the damn bills. Personally, I think they should be written for the 80-90th percentile of the general population. IOW, no bills written above an 8th grade level.

On to college education. I have a BS degree and respect the effort it takes to complete a college program. However, I'm very leery of some of the 'education' that is being pushed out in many of the LIBERAL institutions that apparently stiffle and punish opposing conservative views/discussions.

Qualifications for being a congressman or President should be never having earned more than $100,000 a year, only owns one home and perhaps a vacation cabin with a total worth of less than $800,000 and a net worth of less than $2,000,000. These may sound a bit high but keep in mind that they are certainly doable for the 'common man'. But, that certainly rules out the silver spoons and the out of touches.

You know the original congresspersons, if you will, were farmers, ranchers, and so forth and they volunteered and then went home. They didn't roost.

Oh, that reminds me of another problem with congress......

They need to be allowed to be in session for only 3 months a year. They have WAY TOO MUCH TIME to fiddle and diddle with the laws in this country. They need to take care of the essentials and get the hell out of town.

Who does the washington (and wall street) business as usual crowd fear the most - that's who I'm voting for.

Obama is a socialist - bordering on communist
McCain Don't impress me that much either.

I'm voting for the only candidate that has any history of doing what both nominee's keep talking about - Palin - and if I have to take McCain along with her, so be it.

What if Mcain voted "not present" 90% of the time?

What if a Mcain advisor was the former head of Fannie Mae until 2 yrs ago, Franklin Raines, who presided over the subprime loans until making an exit with an umbrella payment of over 90 mil?
From an article published in the NY Times on September 30, 1999. Yes, 1999. The column is about how Fannie Mae was going to start easing credit requirements for subprime lenders under pressure from the Clinton AdministrationFannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure
from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and
felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. In addition, banks, thrift
institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to
so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not
good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge
uch higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional
loans. ''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing
down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, (current Obama Advisor) Fannie Mae's chairman
and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below
what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage
rates in the so-called subprime market.''
Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent
of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the
                        conventional loan market.

What if Cindy Mcain said this is the only time Ive been pround of America?

What if Obama had been subjected to torture in Vietnam?

What if William Ayers was Mcains friend?

What if Mcain had a muslim middle name, black mother and said axe instead of ask?

What if both candidates didnt have a rational plan for immigration?

Neither of them have an answer to the economic turndown.
Obama wants to spend more money for a national health care plan where the government who has never spent money efficiently is going to provide doctors. Those doctors will walk off the job after already spending years with the burdens of paper shuffling and malpractice insurance costs when they have the gov dictating what they can and cannot do.
Mcain is a moron with a beautiful wife who cant explain his plan but even if he could doesnt have the necessary qualities of leadership.

At a time when no one wants to put blame on the incompetency of our elected officials and instead obfuscate the intentions of those who did I think we need a reality check:

FactCheck.org: Who Caused the Economic Crisis?

You seem to be suggesting that there is only one president to vote for.
The liberterian candidate is Bob Barr of Oley North fame.
The constitutional candidate is Chuck Baldwin.
The independent candidate is Ralph Nader.

Just vote. Hold your nose, vote and be glad Clinton wasnt the demo candidate. Because my friend your defense of her would be the most interesting read of all.
