Re: Commodore 64
I've got Commodore 63, I.ve lost one bit. Argh they were 8-bit, so nope it's still 6kg box of mouse bytes, with all In/Out's just doesn't handle fibre speeds well. Just Turbo at the speed of Flash card.
Good old days!

Re: Commodore 64
Well.
Shit-slinging aside, what a properly smart video. I miss those days. I have an emulator knocking around on my computer somewhere for the Amiga, I occasionally play Gunship 2000 and F/A-18 Interceptor. Long live Commodore! It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Re: Commodore 64
I don't.
A friend had a ZX81, similar to the Commodore and I wrote a program that flashed a black dot in the middle of the screen and felt I had accomplished something. One evening we spent three hours getting Space Invaders loaded from cassette tape, you had to get the volume right, only to find out the game was unplayable due to the unusual keyboard.Comment

Re: Commodore 64
the Commodore VIC-20 was my first computer then I upgraded to the C64 a year or so later. I ended up learning a lot from those two machines including BASIC, CP/M and I think a little FORTRAN. Compared to other computers at the time, the Radio Shack TRS-80 and some overpriced boxes of shit from Apple, the Commodore was a great bang for the buck.
Here are some old Commodore commercials:

Re: Commodore 64
Thanks again that is something to see. I had one of these and had a disk drive and a 2400 baud modem. Real super fast for back then. Went out into the world of bulletin boards and had a lot of fun with that beast. Even upgraded to a Commodore 128 when they cam out. Just plugged all the goodies from the C-64 into it and used that to play games for another two years.Comment
