'I dont get why everything lies at the foot of the president.'

In the words of Harry Truman:
    ' The buck stops here'

Yea, personal accountability is a thing of the past. Who was it that coined the term "teflon president". That was about Reagon during Iran contra gate. Oley North ever the good soldier took the heat instead.

If I had a nickel for everytime the media made a reference to Bush being responsible for the war I'd be rich. The fact of the matter is the Senate and House all made it possible. As is the case with most matters foreign and domestic; legislatively speaking of course. The farce is perpetuated by the media and is swallowed whole by an ignorant electorate. Nothing could be that simple.

If we dont get to the bottom of the causes of the housing crisis and the credit economy tanking the lessons are lost. A little bit like a reckless son or daughter who finally figure out money doesnt grow on trees. The regulations that brought about the 40:1 lending practices and the lack of credit worthiness for mortgages lies at the foot of the democrats relaxing the rules and the lenders and borrowers believing in fairy tales. But we'll have to go back to a simpler time and remember people like Truman who said the buck stops here because nobody in this day and age will do it.

I think of Oliver North and 9 or 10 others including the Secretary of Defense convicted in the Iran-Contra scandal under President Regan.

Socialism isnt what we have.....yet. That would mean government has taken over the means of production.

Welfare state, yea. Leading down the road to socialism, yea. Not at totalitarianism yet either(China).

If the will of the American people is to have National Health care for cradle to grave coverage then whos to stop 'em.

It was floated with Hillary.... tough economic times could be the catalyst for it now with the big O.

Life expectancy tables have shown Americans live longer are more productive have better health care and can afford it.

If the government gets involved, you'll see the decline of people in medicine who provide such good care. It'd be like a copier technician having to perform "cpr" to a mach but 1st you have to fill out reams, have the gov'nmint ask you to explain why its neccessary and nit pick you to death. About then we'd be saying stick it and look for a less regulated workplace. Our government will be in the business of deciding who lives and who dies and doctors whos hands will be tied will sit and watch but not be able to do anything. There goes the hippocratic oath.

There never will be a rational plan for gov't sponsered health care insurance because there isnt any. It never did anything effectively or efficiently, except for national defense/judicial system/police, and never will. I mean look at schools. Rant off.
