The only way that Amendment 14 would come into play would be the Biden administration were to try to stop making direct benefits to any veterans. That would include cutting Social Security and Medicare parts A and B as those are also benefits that veterans over the age of 65 or disabled receive. Furloughing civilian employees would be allowed to include VA hospital and clinic personnel as those position can be manned by military doctors, nurses, medics. corpsmen and lab workers. Reserve and Guard hospital units can be activated if necessary. It could even be counted as their Annual Training.
No, no, no, the Republicans are all for banning books. They also hate "selective history" but they only want to teach the history that meets their standards. Oh wait, that's sounds like selective history.
Schools have been "banning books ' for decades . You can still get the book just not in schools , so does that mean it is still banned ? Now what not has been done for decades is tearing down national monuments .Far as history being taught , just want it taught the way it was , not the way you want to see it now . It is sad to see that schools have gone so far from the basics of reading , writing and arithmetic to more focused on social issues .

I remember not just book banning in schools but book burning. At one time there were activist groups who would pull book out of school and public libraries, pile them up and burn them. It wasn't adult content books. It was books they decided they didn't like. Often literary classics like Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Onion Field and Gone With the Wind.
School boards used to censor the content of books used in schools. My high school had a book of short stories that the senior literature class used. It was chosen because it contained Animal Farm and Principles of Newspeak. It also contained Johnathan Swift's A Modest Proposal and some sexually explicit short stories. Those pages had either been physically cut out of the books or the edges glued together. On a few of those with glued pages the gluing was failing and the students that had them were able to separate them. They asked the teacher why the pages had been edited and he decided that would make a good subject of discussion.

I am sure the Republicans will start burning books just like the Nazis
