    thanks..
i am outside a lot, even in winter, doing things and only deal with major concerns while on the nyc subways..crowded and some coughing away and not covering their mouths..
I can see people getting killed if they do this this winter...I will move away if i see it...or just not work unless i can drive to account.....
NYC saw it real bad and people stayed locked up and streets stayed empty...It seemed to work.

The virus is still here in Europe but is now more peaceful. The contagions have decreased and also the deaths.
Day after day, we are returning to normal. The important thing is never to underestimate the virus. We continue to use masks and often wash our hands.

I hope that this virus will soon be reduced in America too. Unfortunately you haven't done a lockdown like in Europe. Be careful guys.

This, they say, is where the public has dropped the ball on mask wearing. "Masks that are not fitted are worthless!"
To top that off, it was explained to me that certain masks do certain things, and almost none of them are actually "effective" in the way they're being used.
Anything with a respirator/ flapper to let exhaust out, is actually just Spewing out the virus in a more concentrated stream.
The medical masks, are for use in "sterile environments", so as not to spew anything on a patient, it does little to nothing to stop incoming particles, and these types of masks should not be worn for more than an hour (they said 30 - 40 minutes), and then thrown away due to Microbial and fungal contamination stored in the moisture from your breath, leading to throat issues and respiratory infections. It was also shown in the study that the outside of the mask was severely contaminated, and when a person goes to "adjust" or remove their mask, they are coming into contact with the particles, and spreading it to other objects/ body parts.
Cloth masks are worthless, again because the majortiy are "ill-fitting", and only 1 or 2 layers.

That may be true for Germany but not necessarily true for the rest of Europe. The 8 countries with the highest number of deaths per capita are all in Europe. Two of those countries, San Marino and Andorra, are rather small but the other 6 are Belgium, the UK, Spain, Italy, Sweden and France. Germany is number 33 and Denmark is number 34.

What FrohnB said about cloth masks and surgical cloth masks is absolutely correct, I posted a link to wikipedia months back proving this. But you don't want knowledge as it goes against what the media spoon feeds you.

The only BS around here is part of your handle. Now quit acting like a spoiled little child and start understanding what is actually happening. If you doubt what someone else posts then Google it, or what ever search engine you prefer, find documented links to actual facts and post them.

I had a brief look at that site particularly what they had to say about surgical face masks.
these masks may provide some protection when N95 masks are not available.
The surgical face mask as mentioned months ago by various posters does not protect the wearer as it was never designed to. It's almost sixty years old and replaced cloth face masks which are still used in developing countries, so sixty years later and we are still not sure of the protection offered which if you are paying attention is zero. However never let the facts get in the way of a politically motivated panic.

I believe the main reason for non medical providers wearing a mask is to help prevent the wearer from infecting someone else.

The very first paragraph from the article you provided a link to. "Can face masks help prevent the spread of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19? Yes, face masks combined with other preventive measures, such as frequent hand-washing and social distancing, help slow the spread of the virus." It mentioned social distancing. I mentioned distance distancing two days ago. Their final bullet point was "Don't use face masks as a substitute for social distancing." Again in keeping with what I had posted and have been posting for sometime on Facebook.

Overall a very good article, I shared it to Facebook. They covered the pluses and minuses of the various types of masks. I have seen elsewhere also that multiple layer home made masks might actually be best. A friends doctor advised her that to use 6 layers. I have also seen it said that cotton t shirt material works best but have not verified such. I like that they did in their first bullet point at the end mentioned proper wearing. "Place your mask over your mouth and nose." Far too many people I see on news reports and social media have the top of the mask below the bottom of their noses. It makes it easier for them to breath through their noses but stops absolutely nothing should they happen to sneeze.

Now one thing that they did not get into which only a few people seem to know is that if you go to a sit down restaurant for a meal, cloth masks also make an excellent beard bib.
