That used to be true but android got very bad press for it. Phil's phone is an S9 and if he has kept up with the samsung updates he should be using Android 10. This version blocks apps permissions to location etc by default for example twitter does not have access to my location.

As for your rather clever choice of weather app of course it needs access to your location or otherwise you need to tell it where you are but the days of a shitty torch app recording your location are over.

i don't use a weather app. if i did I would never use Weather Channel. I'd use WRAL weather... local. but like I said I don't use one... location is OFF except for MAPS when I use it...rarely because I know how to get to most places.

I really don't use my phone for much... I can wait until i get home to use my laptop on my vpn.

and as far as updates I have it set for me to approve before installing.

Maps is excellent in London you can walk to most places without using the underground.

Many common apps on your cellphone, like the Weather Channel, track your location.

With the exception of Google Maps that I use daily for current traffic conditions any app that requires location to be turned does not get installed or if already installed gets deleted. The same goes for blue tooth.

Maps is excellent in London you can walk to most places without using the underground.

With as many road construction projects there currently are here in Bakersfield Maps is absolutely a necessity in order to know what roads are currently closed or backed due to construction or accidents.

As we can see with Fox ratings free falling, when they don't like the message they just move to another source that is serving the message they want to here. So if a "news" source tells them to get vaccinated they will leave that source and find one that provides what they want to hear.

By the way, has anyone heard the audio of CNN that was uncovered by James O'Keefe? It's damning for CNN. Basically Zucerberg (president of CNN) is talking about how they don't cover certain stories if it will hurt democrats and that they get their marching orders straight from the democrat party.
