Is it true that we can't get herd immunity anymore due to the new delta variation? As I remember, all of the vaccination ideology is based on getting herd immunity to stop the spread. Does it mean we will get pandemic restrictions till someone invents a full-fledged cure? I just hope it won't make saliva test kits https://www.confirmbiosciences.com/c...pid-swab-test/ even more expensive; they already are rare to see in stock. One question bothers me to this day. Do masks help or not? My son once told me they might not be helpful since children wear one and the same mask during the day. This is not what WHO recommends.

Barack Obama Scales Back Plans For 60th Birthday Bash Because Of Concerns Over Covid-19 Surge


Former President Barack Obama has scaled back plans for what was to be a 60th birthday bash at Martha’s Vineyard this weekend due to the rise in coronavirus cases.

“This outdoor event was planned months ago in accordance with all public health guidelines and with covid safeguards in place,” Hannah Hankins, a spokesperson for the Obamas, said in a statement to media outlets. “Due to the new spread of the delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends. President Obama is appreciative of others sending their birthday wishes from afar and looks forward to seeing people soon.”

Earlier this week, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked by Fox News’ Peter Doocy whether holding the party send the “wrong example.”

“I would note, first, that former President Obama has been a huge advocate of individuals getting vaccinated,” Psaki said, adding that the CDC has provided guidance on indoor settings “in high or substantial high zones of COVID cases.”

“This event, according to all the public reporting, is outdoors and in a moderate zone,” she said. “But in addition, there is testing requirements and other steps they are taking, which I’m sure they can outline for you in more detail.”

I do not know about ever achieving herd immunity. Much of the world has not rec'd their first vaccine shot. This is probably a decade long process that will likely require a booster vaccine shot every couple of years, even for those who have been double vaccinated already.

Add to that the fact that the government and the news media keeps lying to us about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines. They need to start telling the truth and regain trust. Of course that means about everything.

Most of us didn't trust the media way before all this, now they have just dug themselves a bigger hole.
