Canada's economy plunges further into the abyss. And the government doesn't have the money to support it's people during the lockdown.

            'Undermine fiscal ability for decades'

But the coronavirus shutdown triggered the country's biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression, says a press release from the finance minister.

Canadian Chamber of Commerce's president and CEO, Perrin Beatty, said the deficit and added debt, which is worth nearly half the country's GDP, will "undermine Canada's fiscal capacity for decades".

"It is now time for Canada to transition from a subsidy-based crisis response toward restoring economic growth and getting Canadians safely back to work," Mr Beatty said in a press release.

In June, Fitch Ratings, one of the US's big-three credit rating agencies, downgraded Canada's credit rating from AAA to AA+.

The last time the country had its credit rating downgraded was in 1995, from Moody's Investors Service Inc.

At the time, Canada's debt-to-GDP was at about 66% - the highest in the G7 - and interest rates were high.

Today's debt-to-GDP ratio is lower, at 49%, up from 31% during last fiscal year, and interest rates are at historic lows.

There is no official Canadian gov't statement surrounding the ethics of COVID-19 vaccination. The only statements is that distribution, like in the USA, will be prioritized towards healthcare workers, essential service workers and those living in assisted living seniors homes. All of the above people will retain the right to decline any vaccine should they choose. All of the above people do not get to choose which vaccine will be available to themselves.

If I remember correctly, you yourself basically have said that any Canadian that didn't take the vaccine would find themselves shut of of the economy. So there's that. Short memory, eh?

PS - The Canadian government has shown they are heavy-handed when dealing with those who break any covid restrictions. They'll arrest you. They'll do whatever it takes if you don't follow their rules. It's a pretty safe bet that your government will come down hard on anyone who doesn't submit to being vaccinated. Yes, sir.

                        ... speculation.

The Cdn Federal gov't has not made any statement on this. Cdn Provincial and Municipal gov'ts have imposed $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 personal fines for each individual who is charged with failure to observe COVID-19 mandatory guidelines per offence.

Canada does have a Quarantine Act. 77 people have been fined, 7 people have been charged. Nobody has been arrested.

77 fines issued, 7 people charged for breaking Canada'''s quarantine rules during COVID-19 | CBC News

Many of the people fined were Americans driving through Canada to Alaska violating their promise to drive to Alaska without stopping.

I think you are starting to see heavy fines and detentions in the USA for mostly bar, gym and restaurant owners who think they above the law. US Governors are getting tired of the repeated public safety violations.
