With the Christmas travel season upon us, in Canada, if you cannot present your COVID vaccination report in an electronic format with a QR code embedded, you are not going anywhere via public or private transportation providers.

... what exactly do you think COVID tracing is? It is to track and find people who may be spreading a COVID variant and forcing them into self isolation.

Presenting a COVID vaccination report to gain entry is irrelevant from a health point of view unless backed up by a very recent test result, which you make no mention of. Your system allows vaccinated although positive asymptomatic people to do what they like. It cannot be covid tracking unless backed up by a daily test. We had a sign in system like you mention for restaurants, it was a huge failure and was scrapped.
