California is among the states impacted by the SALT cap, along with New York, New Jersey, and other places with high property taxes and expensive real estate.


Republicans immediately attacked the idea of eliminating the cap.



The majority of taxpayers still receive a tax break for writing off their state and local taxes. Capping the deduction was good policy at the time and good policy now.



This may be one of the last chances they have to shoehorn the SALT deduction repeal into legislation before they lose their majority.

This is one way the government screws the little people.

The Washington Post fact-checked various complaints about the Georgia bill, ultimately finding that the experts it spoke to said “the net effect was to expand the opportunities to vote for most Georgians, not limit them.”

Specifically, the Post found that while Biden and others claimed the new law “ends voting hours early so working people can’t cast their vote after their shift is over.” As the Post noted, the new law does no such thing.

Critics of the bill also falsely claimed the new Georgia bill would prohibit food or drink from being passed out to people waiting in line to vote. As The Daily Wire previously reported, the bill does not prevent people waiting in line to vote from receiving food or water, but politicians and their staff cannot provide it in an effort to secure votes. Poll workers can pass out water or food as they see fit.
The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo also reminded critics of the Georgia law, who claim requiring voters to present ID in order to vote is racist, that African-Americans don’t see it that way.

... I suspect that an offshore wind turbine technician will get paid even more. Perhaps transported by helicopter. I am well familiar with supporting oil rigs by helicopter.

I have one customer that operates a helicopter crash test (mandatory for all off shore workers) facility. They strap you into a helicopter in an indoor facility and crash you into a swimming pool. Not every worker is willing to do that therefore higher pay for those who do.
