The settlement for more than $787 million with Fox News represents “a ringing endorsement for truth and accountability,” the attorney representing Dominion Voting Systems said Tuesday.

“The truth matters. Lies have consequences,” said Justin Nelson of the Susman Godfrey law firm at a news conference outside the courthouse.

Nelson said that more than two years ago a “torrent of lies” had swept Dominion and election officials across America, causing “grievous harm to Dominion and the country.”

Nelson also said the country must “remain ever vigilant to find common ground.”

“For our democracy to endure for another 250 years and, hopefully much longer, we must share a commitment to facts,” Nelson added.

I'd rather get a root canal than debate Bullshitmaster2. He has no ability for defense. Or offense, if you must.

Why did Dominion settle for less than half of what they originally asked for? Were they afraid that there would information that they would be forced to disclose that they did not want to have the voting public to know about?Did they realize that if they lost it might bankrupt them or force them out of business? On both sides is it that they knew that their legal fees might be more than they were willing to pay, in the case of Dominion more than $1.6 billion they were asking for?

The real losers are the other big news media outlets. It means that "Freedom of the press" no longer protects them from being sue for the lies they have been telling for years. Give it a few weeks or months and Trumps is going to have a field filing against CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, The New York Times, Et Cetera, Et Cetera and so forth.

But from now on you also need to remember that your lies have consequences. Just like Nancy Pelosi need to realize that she also is not above the law.
