Federal officials have reprogrammed Healthcare.gov, making new benefits available to tens of millions of Americans, weeks after Congress authorized spending billions on additional health law subsidies.

The Biden administration has doubled Obamacare’s advertising budget to get the word out, and will now spend $100 million telling Americans about newly affordable options.

Nearly everyone with an Affordable Care Act health plan can now qualify for increased financial help with premiums by going back to the website. Many Americans who buy their own insurance outside the A.C.A. marketplaces may also qualify for substantial help, and may benefit from reviewing options and switching to an eligible plan. Uninsured Americans also qualify.
These improved benefits and lowered costs were made available from new Federal gov't funding received from the America Recovery Act signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11 2021.

Not a single Republican in the House nor Senate voted for this to happen while America continues to fight against the the COVID-19 pandemic which has killed over 552,000 citizens and infected 9% of its 330M citizens.

Microsoft, Coca Cola, Delta, Southwest Airlines and AT&T have all announced their protests against Republican legislative efforts across the country to remove various voters rights in multiple states like Georgia and Arizona.

These top US corporations endorse many Republican politicians with campaign contributions and favors that could quickly dry up should Republicans not cease in their attempts o limit voting.

Expect many more US corporations join these protests in the coming days.

Georgia's voting requirements are very similar to those of Canada. That's one thing Canada got right. Big fan.

McConnell says GOP won’t support Biden’s infrastructure plan, vows to fight Democratic agenda

                      • Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he sees Republican opposition to President Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan, and vowed to fight the broader Democratic agenda.
                      • The comment all but assures Democrats would have to pass a more than $2 trillion infrastructure proposal on their own, unless they make major changes to win Republican support.
                      • The proposal outlined Wednesday invests in roads, bridges, airports, electric vehicles, broadband and water systems, and raises the corporate tax rate to 28% to offset the spending.

“We’ll have a good-faith negotiation with any Republican who wants to help get this done. But we have to get it done,” Biden said when unveiling the infrastructure plan in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

... Mitch McConnell may have blundered. Now that there is no point in trying to negotiate with the Republicans over infrastructure, the Democrats can use their second available budget reconciliation vote to pass the required stimulus bill.

Infrastructure paid for by increased taxes on corporations is very popular among both Democrat and Republican voters. The only people against are Republican politicians.

It gets harder and harder for the old Republican tactic of being obstructionists when they are not in power to resonate with voters. Citizens want to see their gov't get things done.

                        How so are they similar?

Canada has always been largely free of politicians trying to make voting more difficult to favor one political party.

Mostly because in Canada there are always four to five parties that you can vote for. Never only two.

I've posted the similarities in this thread yesterday. Every voter in Canada must show an ID or 2 utility bills with their name and address. If they can't produce one, they can bring a friend (friend must be associated to that polling place) to vouch for them but the friend must show an ID and the person without an ID must put in name and address in writing to be verified. I love that.

I receive a voter registration card in the mail with a Voter ID #. I can vote in person or online. What could be easier? No line ups, no being overheated in the sun, standing inline for long periods of time with other people that I do not know during COVID.

Nothing at all like the way people are being legislated to vote in Georgia.

By the way, no statistically significant hint of voter fraud in Canada.
