    Problem customers

This morning I went out to a new customer to do training on Pinpoint Scan for their needs. I showed them how to set up a file structure that made sense for what they needed. I then showed them how to put the files on the Kyocera MFP. No problem so far.

Then they said they wanted to be able to access the files on all PC's. No problem. I mapped the folder and shared it on every PC. I don't consider that to be part of the job, but no problem.

Then the secretary gets involved. She asked me if the folder was being backed up, I asked what backup system they were using. She said they were using some local guy and was backed up on his server. But she said only specific things were being backed up. I told her that she needed to contact him and find out. She then demanded that I tell the owner (he's standing right next to me on the phone) that the folder on the desktop isn't being backed up. I told her that I had no idea what's being backed up.

I asked if she had a microsoft account and we can back everything up on the cloud. She doesn't like Microsoft and I didn't like her attitude.

This is true, but I'm not trying to rid the world of problem customers. I'm really just ranting.

This secretary had a snarky attitude.

They're using a dedicated PC for Pinpoint scan and I created a shared folder with subfolders and shared it will all the other PC's. I had no problem with that. But I wasn't there to work on their computers. I'm not responsible for backing that shit up. Nor am I responsible for knowing what's being backed up. If they want to pay me, I'll do anything they want. But don't tell me what to tell the owner when I have no idea. She needs to tell him. I'm not gonna lie and tell him something I don't know. She got upset because I wouldn't tell him.

      Again, just ranting.

That's why you should have discussed how they scan with there IT before or during the install.

Experience is great lesson hopefully you learned something

You'll probably have to go back again and setup the correct location for the scan folders so they get backed up..
