President Biden signed 50 bills into law on Christmas Eve, as the year and his time in office draw to a close.

The bills Mr. Biden signed include socialite and activist Paris Hilton's bill to protect teenagers living in residential treatment facilities, a bill setting anti-hazing standards on college campuses, and a bill preventing members of Congress from collecting pensions if convicted of certain crimes.

Hilton is the force behind the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act, which passed the House and Senate last week. The legislation creates a federal work group on youth residential programs to oversee the health, safety, care, treatment and placement of minors in rehab and other facilities. The new law is personal for Hilton, who has testified before Congress that she faced abuse in such facilities as a teen.

This is what Biden will be remembered for. As for his voters? Well, they'll be remembered for they're lying about the economy, border and Joe's dementia.

Homelessness hit record high this year amid affordable housing shortage

Homelessness in the U.S. hit the highest level on record this year as the affordable housing crisis intensifies, federal regulators said Friday.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) tallied more than 770,000 people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January, an 18 percent increase from 2023 that is likely an undercount.

amilies with children experiencing homelessness jumped 39 percent, the largest increase on record, according to HUD data. Nearly 150,000 children were experiencing homelessness, a 33 percent increase from 2023.

Veterans were the only population where homelessness continued to decline, down 8 percent from 2023. The number of veterans experiencing homelessness has fallen 55 percent since HUD started collecting data on veteran homelessness in 2009.

Black people continue to be overrepresented among the homeless population: around 32 percent of people experiencing homelessness are Black despite making up only 12 percent of the U.S. population, according to HUD, which also found that the share of homeless people who identify as Black decreased from 37 percent in 2023.

The latest surge follows a 12 percent increase in homelessness in 2023 amid rising rents and a decline in pandemic assistance.
Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development reports that homelessness is up 18% this year. California is of course #1.

After an impressive run in 2024, Hyundai has no plans to slow down as the US shifts to electric vehicles. The US Department of Energy announced five Hyundai EVs, including Kia and Genesis models, were among the 25 electric cars that qualify for the federal tax credit.
This is the first time since the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was passed in 2022 that the Korean automaker is eligible for tax benefits.

Hyundai just began production at its new Metaplant America (HMGMA) in October 2024, a massive new $7.6 billion EV manufacturing plant in Georgia. The company fast-tracked production, putting up the facility in two years to unlock the credit.

The first vehicle that rolled off the assembly line was Hyundai’s upgraded 2025 IONIQ 5 electric SUV. Shortly after, Hyundai launched mass production of its first three-row electric SUV, the IONIQ 9.

We're ending EV tax credits. Also, none of you liberals on this site even own an EV. Probably because you can't afford it.

A committee of national security and trade experts determined that a Nippon Steel acquisition of U.S. Steel would place one of America’s largest steel producers under foreign control and create risk for our security and supply chains.
                          I'm blocking the deal.

This action reflects my unflinching commitment to utilize authorities available to me as President to defend U.S. national security, including by ensuring that American companies continue to play a central role in sectors that are critical for our national security.

President Biden is awarding the Medal of Freedom to 19 people, including civil rights icons such as the late Fannie Lou Hamer and prominent political leaders such as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and billionaire Democratic fundraiser George Soros.
He's also honoring actors and athletes, including Michael J. Fox, Denzel Washington as well as Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi and Earvin "Magic" Johnson, the retired basketball star who led the Los Angeles Lakers to five championships.

"These nineteen Americans are great leaders who have made America a better place. They are great leaders because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world," the White House said in a statement.

Today, after many months of intensive diplomacy by the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire and hostage deal. This deal will halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much needed-humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity.
I laid out the precise contours of this plan on May 31, 2024, after which it was endorsed unanimously by the UN Security Council. It is the result not only of the extreme pressure that Hamas has been under and the changed regional equation after a ceasefire in Lebanon and weakening of Iran — but also of dogged and painstaking American diplomacy. My diplomacy never ceased in their efforts to get this done.

Even as we welcome this news, we remember all the families whose loved ones were killed in Hamas’s October 7th attack, and the many innocent people killed in the war that followed. It is long past time for the fighting to end and the work of building peace and security to begin. I am also if thinking of the American families, three of whom have living hostages in Gaza and four awaiting return of remains after what has been the most horrible ordeal imaginable. Under this deal, we are determined to bring all of them home.

I will speak more about this soon. For now, I am thrilled that those who have been held hostage are being reunited with their families.

President Joe Biden did that !!!!!!
