    General MFC question.

Does anyone have a solution to prevent ink or whatever from sticking to the glass used for ADF copies/scans ? We have a few KonicaMinolta 4050i's that seem to do it more than other brands for whatever reason.
    Any tips ?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Re: General MFC question.

It only happens when the ink or correction fluid has not been allowed enough time to dry. Fluid ink pens are the worse.

Any reason why you posted this in Rants Raves and Everything Else instead of the KM technical forum?

Yes train them it is in every user manual, if they want you to come onsite and clean glass instead make sure call is chargeable.
I have not enough time to do stupid calls so if I ever appear to do it after I phoned and described what to clear and where to clear it is billed 100%

Anytime I take a dirty slit class call, or reloading paper I refer to it as a "job security call". Customers get a laugh, and it helps them remember their past mistakes and how to resolve them without my intervention.

Well I see it on other brands, Brother,HP,Toshiba, etc so I didn't want to post it in each forum but mainly I didn't want a visit from the "DENTIST"...

If you wanted it to be viewed by the top tech for all brands you could have posted it in Copier Technical Discussions. https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/c...al-discussion/

Then you should not have posted it in Rants, Raves and Everything Else. The "DENTIST" posts here frequently.

Maybe I will post it there then, so as not to upset the DENTIST...

Maybe it's time to concentrate on advices received on topic instead of whatever you talk... just saying

                        Re: General MFC question.

The glass cleaner I mostly use is a summer mix of 30% alcohol, and 69% (Nice) windex, with several drops of light silicone oil (fuser oil) to make the last 1%. Winter mix, I reverse the mix Alcohol/windex, to keep it from freezing in in my car over night. Light silicone oil can be applied lightly to a towel and used on the spf glass with a light dry wipe to give a slight anti stick to the glass. Its not a permanent fix to glass cleaning but it has helped me. This is my surface glass mix, do not use any oils on optic mirrors, or laser mirrors. You were right to ask here because it falls under everything else, since it is not a brand specific issue. PS its gross but, there is a lot of debris that can be on the glass, like... Snot, glue, ink, donut glaze, blood (Ive seen it), whiteout, oils, greases, tack oils, absolutely, anything a human can have on their fingers or other parts, can end up on the glass of a copier
