Is this war criminal in prison yet?
President Obama is not a pioneer of the illegal and offensive wars that the United States has engaged in during the last 20 years. But the use of drone strikes under his administration make him an international war criminal.

Barack Obama is considered by some to be a war criminal due to actions taken during his presidency that critics argue violated international humanitarian law. A central point of contention is the significant expansion of the U.S. drone strike program, which reportedly resulted in substantial civilian casualties. Under Obama’s administration, 563 drone strikes were approved, killing approximately 3,797 people, including hundreds of civilians and children across Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, and other regions. For example, one of the first drone strikes in Yemen under his administration killed 55 people, including 21 children, 10 of whom were under five years old.
Critics argue that certain tactics used in these operations constitute war crimes. "Signature strikes," which targeted individuals based on behavioral patterns rather than confirmed identities, are seen as violating the principle of distinction between combatants and civilians under international law. Additionally, "double-tap" strikes—follow-up attacks on first responders arriving at strike sites—have been condemned as intentional attacks on civilians and medical personnel, which are explicitly prohibited by the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute.
The Obama administration also drew criticism for the extrajudicial killing of U.S. citizens, such as Anwar al-Awlaki and his 16-year-old son Abdulrahman, both killed in drone strikes without due process. While the U.S. government justified these actions as targeting terrorists, the lack of judicial oversight raises constitutional and legal concerns.
Furthermore, the administration conducted military actions, such as the 2011 intervention in Libya, without congressional approval, which some argue was illegal under the War Powers Act. The U.S. also continued indefinite detentions at Guantánamo Bay despite a promise to close the facility, which violates international norms on due process.
Although supporters argue that civilian casualties in military operations do not automatically constitute war crimes unless intentional, and that the U.S. military conducts internal reviews of such incidents, critics maintain that the scale, secrecy, and patterns of these operations under Obama amount to systemic violations of international law. The United Nations and human rights organizations like Amnesty International have expressed concern that these actions may meet the legal definition of war crimes. Basically, A WAR CRIMINAL!Last edited by copiertec; 2 days ago.Comment
