$138M wasted in the ICE raid on LA a few weeks ago. How much is the DC enforcement action going to cost?

This wasted money would be much better spent on funding Medicare or some other similar program.

Think how many school lunches this money would provide to needy children.

Nothing was wasted. Or do you consider it a waste of money for your local police to apprehend and jail a burglar who has broken into your home?

Zero. School lunch programs are not funded by Homeland Security. If they get any federal funding it is through Health and Human Services. Those funds are sent to the individual states for them to distribute. In Democrat controlled states like here in Mexifornia most of it never gets out of the state capital.

Just 38% of Americans support Trump's use of troops to police DC, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds
            • 76% of Republicans support National Guard deployment in Washington, D.C.
            • Trump's approval rating remains low at 40%
            • Democrats criticize deployment as politically motivated

WASHINGTON, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Few Americans outside President Donald Trump's Republican Party support his deployment of National Guard troops to police the streets of Washington, D.C., according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The three-day poll, which concluded on Sunday, found that just 38% of Americans support using troops for law enforcement in the U.S. capital, with 46% opposed. The rest were unsure or declined to answer the question.

"Under Trump, you now have the largest private police force in the world". Gavin Newsom, D. Governor, California.

"This police force is increasingly showing a tendency to not swear an oath to the Constitution but to the President of the USA.

Trump will be sending these police forces to voting booths and polling stations across America.

This is a real and serous moment in US history.

Every Amercian, Democrats and Republicans, should be scared to death of not only these authoritarian tendencies but these authoritarian actions by the President.

He is weakness masquerading as strength and that makes him more dangerous than most people believe."

Mayor Muriel Bowser: ‘We Greatly Appreciate’ Trump’s D.C. Crime Crackdown

                image.png

Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) admitted on Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s “surge” of law enforcement in the city has dramatically reduced crime and made “neighborhoods feel safer.”

D.C. Mayor Bowser: We "greatly appreciate" the surge.
"The difference between this 20-day period of this federal surge and last year represents a 87% reduction in carjackings" in the city, she says, adding that "neighborhoods feel safer and are safer" because of it.

....eventually the cost to deploy these troops will get so great (estimated at $1M+ per day), they will be withdrawn and crime will return to DC's normal pre-invasion levels.

I am sure in any City in the world if you deploy 1,000s of armed military troops, crime will go into hiding until they leave.

This deployment is all a charade to make Trump look strong but like in LA once the troops leave everything returns to normal.

Meanwhile, tourism in DC is being crushed and millions of tourism dollars are going elsewhere.

Regardless, you still lied. Blatantly lied.

Actually the only decline has been international visitors and that happened earlier in the year when tariff discussions were affecting international tourism nation wide.
