When I ordered the BluSound Node, it was mainly due to integration with Alexa Voice. It serves that purpose well and saved me a lot of money because I didn't have to replace my Yamaha AV receiver. I've had this receiver for a while now and it still sounds great but I've had Marantz SR7015 on the brain for a while now. It has a lot of new features that my current unit just doesn't have.

The only other thing I need is a seperate amp for the main speakers. The Marantz puts out 120 watts @ 2-channels. However I have 9 speakers and that 120 gets divided up between all the speakers. Marantz promises that it doesn't drop below 70% of the rated 120 watts when playing all speakers. But that's placing a heavy workload on the Marantz and I would be better served by using a dedicated amp for the main speakers. That's where most of the power is going.

The Marantz 7015 is their flagship model. It's my first time buying a Marantz as I've always stuck with Yamaha. Looking foward to getting hooked up in my home.

Welp, I just ordered the final component to my sound system and that is the Emotiva XPA-3 Gen3 3 Channel Audiophile Home Theater Power Amplifier.

I've lost track of the money that I've spent upgrading. I think it's north of 10k but it's gonna be one bad mamma jamma.

I just received a call from the trucking company. They are delievering my SVS subwoofer tomorrow between the hours of 1-4. This will be epic.

I'm gonna take a side-by-side picture of my old Klipsch sub and my new SVS subwoofer. It should dwarf the old one. I'm excited.

How do you tell if you bought a high-end amplifier? It comes with a birth certificate.

My Marantz AV receiver doesn't arrive until later on today but I couldn't help to hook up the new subwoofer. The best way that I can describle it is: Controlled Violence.

When my receiver arrives today, I will install it along with the EMOTIVA amp that arrived yesterday.

I have everything installed and dialed in. The Marantz SR7015 is the flagship AV receiver and everything about it screams qaulity. The EMOTIVA XPA-2 amplifier is 350 watts of the cleanest audio that I've ever heard.

Audio has been a hobby of mine for many years and there's a couple of things that I've learned.

                1. It's an expensive hobby.
                2. After you've spent a certain amount of money...you reach a point of diminshing returns. I think I have about $11,000 in my new system and there's not a lot of improvement to be had. And it would cost another 5-7k to get that last 10% out of it. Is the last 10% worth it? Hell no.

The SVS subwoofer shakes everything in the entire house. It will find any flaws in construction. The bass will hit you in the chest and you can feel it in your soul. There's no distortion on the lowest of frequencies.

The EMOTIVE produce perfect midrange and highs without clipping.

Just be careful with that sub-woofer. Some subsonic frequencies can be deadly.

Welp, I have decided to go all out on my home theater. I have a 75" 4k TV currently, but I've decided to purchase a 120" 4k projector TV. I haven't decided which one yet but I've learned that Hisense has arguably the best 120" short throw projector TV on the market.

I'm also knocking out a wall and creating a whole new home theatre room. The sound system will be 9.2.4. That's 9 floor level speakers, 2 subwoofers, and 4 Dolby Atmos speakers in the ceiling.

Correction: The sound system will be a 7.2.4. My bad.

I pulled the trigger and ordered the following:

                      Hisense 120L9G-CINE120A
4K laser home theater projector and 120" screen

I'm very excited about this projector TV. I watch more sports than movies but hopefully this entices me to start watching more movies. My home theater room is gonna be ridiculous.

The 120" projection TV was delivered a few minutes ago. The theater room is in the process of a complete overall. We've run all the electrical/speaker wire. We'll be floating sheetrock for the next couple of days. Around Thursday or Friday we're gonna paint all the walls and ceiling black. That will be done with an airless spray rig. Then I'll put down some dark gray carpet.

I figure we'll be done by Sunday. I hope.

Has anyone ever been in a completely black room? I'm talking ceilings, floors, everything??

The paint is Tricorn black and it absorbs so much light, it looks dark even when the lights are on. It's kinda scary.

I installed 4 Klipsch Atmos speakers in the ceiling. I painted the grills black to match the ceiling.

                              Pics with and without grill.
