A bipartisan chorus of lawmakers assailed Joe Biden for failing to seek congressional approval before authorizing military strikes against targets in Yemen controlled by Iranian-backed Houthi militants, reigniting a long-simmering debate over who has the power to declare war in America.







Biden, who served 36 years in the Senate, including as chair of the foreign relations committee, notified Congress but did not request its approval.

The Republican controlled Congress is so dysfunctional it could take weeks to reach a decision when the action required is measured in hours. The Democrats vocalizing against these actions have their own agendas and not every voice has to be heard.

Clearly President Biden has the luxury of taking action now and asking for foregiveness later.

Global trade has been disrupted, the movement of goods takes longer and marine insurance rates are skyrocketing. This will cause increased prices on good and commodities for American citizens. Global oil prices are rising.

To-date, no US service person has been directly harmed by these actions and both the Houthi militias and their Iranian backers are paying a price for disrupting global commerce at one of the world's key maritime chokepoints.

The USA cannot loose control of this key body of water.

2. The biggest dysfunction is the border crisis - democrats.

3. Why do other countries like yours always rely on the USA to take care of these global scenarios?
