Do you have a copier at home?

I always liked Epson as an inkjet printer. I did samples before on their color laser copiers to HP and the Epson had better reproduction. I always wondered if it was only a matter of time before they got into the commercial line of copiers...they might come up with some good stuff.

No kidding. Check out their wide format stylus pros. They use more than just the CMYK inks. Commercial printers get them for banners, signs, and they're really nice for sending proofs to customers.
I've never compared them to Canon or Oce and maybe Kodak has some too. But they looked better than the HP I compared it too. I don't recall the specific models and who knows what has changed since then, but what my eyes had seen was very good.Comment

These aren't typical home printers, they probably start around $7k-$10 on the low end. Don't know if the small ones are very different or not.Comment

I think the problem with HP was their attitute. Something to the tune of where the largest, biggest, baddest printers around. Not very true these days. They always wanted a premium for anything of theirs and it was totally unjustified. Back in the 90's when Minolta bought QMS and really pushed their printers, HP started to be humbled and ever since just about anybody can get a laserprinter now. That was back when the entry level price for a laser was around $500 I think.Comment

HP Printers
I know what you're saying. I've got an old HP4 that runs pretty cheap, but the PSC2350 eats my lunch if I try to run a color print. Black isn't much better. At $36 a pop, I think HP's prices are flat out gouging. Just don't understand how they can get away with it, kiven all the competition. Still trading of their name perhaps?
I've been told Kodak has a printer now that has the same quality and reliability, but the cartridge yield is much higher and the cost a lot less. Haven't personally researched this yet, but it comes on good authority.
I do a lot of editing, so I have to make copies I'll eventually toss, so the HP4 does great cost wise, but the quality isn't there. Maybe if I clean the optics, hummmm.....Comment

We have a AL1651CS, I wanted a small laser copier with print and scan. Cheap to run, easy maint. My wife used it a bunch when she went back to school to get her degree. It gets little use now but its nice to have.Comment
