If you're talking about this section of the forum (rants), well, isn't what this is for?
As for the remainder of the forums, appart from the ocasional out-of-topic thread, I think they fulfil their purpose - but then again, I've been here for less than an year.

I understand what you're saying, though. I've definitely noticed that threads like the ones you described will have 3 or 4 pages of responses, while threads concerning actual printer/copier technical issues have far less, sometimes only one or two (responses, not pages). I guess it's more fun to bitch about perceived stupidity, I get that...But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.
