    Hazardous to health ?

    Anyone seen this ?

I've done this job nearly 20 years but I'm in rude health.

    Any comments ?

Common sense (?) would suggest keeping away from things when they are operating - a printer on your desk is probably not super healthy. It also makes sense to organise plenty of ventilation around any machine - although I have seen copiers and such jammed into the most cramped and badly ventilated spaces - hardly enough room to operate it and load paper, let alone repair it! Machines with corona wires seem to make more ozone, but they are mostly on the way out, are they not?

I've always wondered about that, especially all those days I came home and washed the toner out of my nose. I feel great also after 25 years of sucking down toner. It's a wonder really. I guess they're always looking for a reason why people are dying. I think it's just time has a way of having it's way with us all. Live Long and Prosper!!!

Can't be any worse than the black crap I breathed for 9 years working in an iron foundry. Dust and smoke could get pretty bad in there. Thing was, they made it a "non-smoking" facility to improve our health, but so many people said that if it was non-smoking, they better get rid of the smoke in there that they changed it to a "tobacco-free" workplace.

Read the MSDS sheet for the stuff, it won't kill you.

I think the toxic stuff happens when the paper and toner are cooked in the fuser - until then toner is pretty inert. What about silicon oil - I reckon that stuff can't be too good.
