They use a database of questions and you may or may not get the same set each time. I have found that if you download the lesson pdf's and search these while taking the test you can get a high enough score to pass. Otherwise it is better to just sit through the classes. This does not work on the OUTWARD certifications.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Amen to that. You are only selling your fellow techs short buy cheating on these. There is a WEALTH of info in those test. Hell.. I should finish mine up as I'm probably 90% threw the professional one's.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

You get paid to be a tech so take the tests and quit your bitching. Next thing you know you'll be bitching about your boss wanting you to do service calls.

If you take the course and take notes, and write down every practice test question, you will pass. Also write down the questions and the answers you give, as it will let you review the test after you take it. A lot of it is copier basics, and from what I have seen, a lot of people getting paid to be a tech, should review the basics.

Amen - the amount of times I have seen fellow techs just guess an answer on the Canon learning system, then get a problem they can't solve in the field that was talked about in the learning package, then act suprised when you point it out to them!!!

Do the learning it will help you more in the long run than just guessing and hope to pass.

Why don't you & your co-workers try a little team work. You take the test on a certain model for all your co-workers. Another takes the test for another model for everyone else. Or, print out the test that you are taking, and pass out the test, without answers, to your friends. It isn't exactly ethical, but neither is making us jump through hoops, on our own time, without compensation, to obtain certificates your company needs to sell these machines.. I would happily get any stupid certificate they need, if I didn't have to do it all on my time. And seriously, nobody is impressed by an Associates Degree in Copier Repair from Konica/Minolta Business Development, least of all, me. And my favorite part, you need one of the copiers you're trying to get certified on, in front of you, during training. Yet the factory will not let you sell/see one until someone has the certificate. And of course, you don't see the machine in the field until months and months after the training, so that knowledge is long forgotten by the time you need it.
