The facial hair thing pissed me off the most, i usually have a gotee and they would force me to shave it off. The reason being if there was a leak the mask has to be tight fitting around your face. Ask to be shown a mask how ever? There was not one in sight. Glad they went with a 4th Xerox.
I had one like this a few years ago....

One machine at a Kraft Cheese factory. Just to get to the machine required passing through the production line area, so a full change of clothes, decontamination of me and tool bag and parts and fully escorted through (after waiting 30mins for someone to come get me usually).
No-one else wanted that machine, so it was my baby. I actually liked going there..... there was a really good bakery up the road. The time wasting got on my nerves though.....

That's funny; me, I'm usually dressing in the dark, you know mismatched socks and shoes.

Basically semi-casual wear...no tshirts/jeans/sneakers...must be clean...I wear an assortment of button shirts, mostly though I have company logo shirts...

We used to wear ties...but I managed to get that axed...safety issue...

Honestly, it's not that difficult; 'bout as hard as getting food into your face without wearing it. Yet I see techs that can't manage that either.

My grandfather (mother's side) used to work on coal burning heating systems all day in a white shirt and come home as clean as he left. My mother was the same way. Delivered a message to everyone on a dirt road in the middle of Georgia summer heat in a white dress. It took her all day and she came back looking as fresh as when she went. (Her friends were amazed) I obviously took after my dad's side of the family. If there was a speck of dirt in a clean room, I would find a way to get it on me. LOL.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

I look for sales on black slacks and black dress shirts. Buy five of each and wear em till my honey says its time to get a new supply. When I first started we had to wear dress slacks, white shirts with ties and sport coats. Man I musta gone through hundreds of white shirts back in the day.

The only issue I have with black pants is that the knee you kneel on most gets worn, it shows too easily, ending the life of an otherwise good pair of pants. Light pants, not so much, but if the floor or carpet is dirty, you have a stain to deal with the rest of the day...

I'm considering investing in a pair of knee pads for the tool kit....

Black, Brown and Navy blue pants with stripped short sleeved shirts, black shoes and black belts has always been my favorite to date. No ties. Well tucked in buttoned shirt, short hair, clean shaven. I wear a pair of spectacles. I always maintain my smartness and cleanliness despite nature of the work. Many people ask and even wonder if I am really a technician. When I ask them how a tech looks like? They simply say Idon't look like one, instead (these days ) like, a honorable member of parliament (senator), I guess because i am now doing more sales than actual repair & my waist line has increased.

if i go for service for savin 880 machine wearing old dress is better. because of liquid toner. for canon dress doesn't matter except working with toner. some intelligent customer buy loose toner or different model toner and put inside and says background in copies. they will not say the toner changed. after few hours take out all toner and trailed with new toner. the copy will come. then only the customer accept the mistake. this happens daily. then how can we maintain perfect dressing. if we wear new shirt it will be look 1 year old after finish service call.
