    Canon 9060 vs xerox 550

    Hello,

i Got a small copy/print business in the netherlands.
i om looking to replace my xerox dc250 for a newer product.

I am a little dissapointed in the dc250 not quite brought to me what i expected from it.
so i am looking at multiple options.

I am very interested in a canon imagerunner 9060.
Had some talks about it and they can make it happen for the amount of money i am willing to spend on it.

Had some testprints of the xerox 550 they look nicer then the prints from my dc250 but not as convincing as the testprints from the imagerunner 9060.

Is there anyone here who compared these machines with each other. And what choice did you make in the end.

    thanks.

    Richard

You might want to research this more at www.printplanet.com

Also, consider the Toshiba eStudio 6530c for a light production copier.

forget about the canon, they have still massive problems with printing Quality in plane areas; have a look at the Bizuhub 5501/6501
If sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions!

bizhub is not an option. uses older toner system than the xerox and canon wich melts at lower fusing temperatures. also not convinced about the quality problems quote where can i find backup on that story.

I think he means some of the older high segment B/W Canon's had a reputation for not making a nice black after they got a few mil on them (at least not without a lot of adjustments). However, on the new advance series B/W they now have 2 developer cylinders, added a black patch sensor, and new finer toner.

As far as the new C9060.
I'm just a tech but from what I've seen Canon really did a nice job, its nothing like a cir6800. They added more sensors for image stability, finer toner and thinner tx belt for better quality. The finer toner makes a better copy on nicer paper (laser) with its smoother surface. But the finer toner isn't as good on the cheaper (bond) paper, which has a rougher surface. As long as you run good paper it makes a good copy and servicewise we aren't seeing many problems.

I always use papertypes like xerox colotech or something similar. for the ocassional booklets with black and white pages I still use plain paper but that's not very often.

how about the xerox anyone got experience with that machine?
